It came down to Grave Digger versus Grave Digger when the final round rolled around for Monster Jam World Finals XIX at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. One driver (Adam Anderson) had been a two-time racing champion, the other (Tyler Menninga) was making his second consecutive appearance in a final round.

In the end, Anderson collected the trophy, crossing the finish line ahead of Menninga by .061 seconds.

Anderson found himself in an early hole, qualifying in the 21st position and losing lane choice to first round opponent Cam McQueen (Northern Nightmare). McQueen left early, triggering a red light and handing Anderson the opening round win. From there, Anderson dispatched Bryce Kenny (Great Clips Mohawk Warrior), who turned over his truck on the approach to the ramp. His next opponent would be his brother, defending Monster Jam World Champion Ryan Anderson. Adam had his fastest lap of the night and moved on to the semi-finals.

Anderson still had one formidable obstacle in fast qualifier Todd LeDuc (Mutant), who had run some of the quickest laps of the night. Anderson turned up the heat to knock his lap time down even lower and move to the finals.

Menninga narrowly beat Jim Koehler (Avenger) to open his march through the racing brackets and benefitted from a Cole Venard (Black Pearl) crash in Round Two. The next opponent was a familiar foe as Bari Musawwir (Zombie) had been competing with Menninga on the Triple Threat Series Central and Menninga prevailed to move to the semi-finals. Marc McDonald (FS1 Cleatus) was next to fall, setting up Menninga’s return to the finals.

Anderson becomes the lowest seeded qualifier to win a Monster Jam World Finals Racing Championship and has become second in all-time World Championships with his fifth title.

Cory Rummell (Pirate’s Curse) recorded the victory in the Double Down Showdown earlier in the evening to advance to join the World Finals Racing Championship field. Rummell cruised to the win after Brandon Vinson (Grave Digger) left the starting gate early.

Monster Jam World Finals XIX will continue on Saturday, March 24 with 32 Monster Jam trucks competing in Freestyle competition. The parade and pre-show will be presented live as well as the encore performance on MonsterJam.com.

On the day after his brother took the Racing Championship at Monster Jam World Finals XIX at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, Ryan Anderson topped the field in Freestyle. The victory gave him his first Freestyle win and second World Championship is as many years. Ryan Anderson had won the Racing Championship in 2017.

The field of 32 competitors found some tough going in Freestyle action. In his first stadium competition, Justin Sipes (Megalodon) picked up the early lead with a spirited run, earning a score of 8.530. The score stood up to the assault until 2010 World Champion Charlie Pauken (Grave Digger) used a strong combination to move out front with a score of 8.778. Linsey Weenk (Lucas Oil Crusader) followed Pauken and came up just short at 8.691. Pauken watched anxiously as top challengers couldn’t muster full runs. With two trucks remaining, two-time World Champion Todd LeDuc (Mutant) left nothing on the table, recording the first 360-degree spin in competition and grabbing the lead with a score of 8.995.

Only Ryan Anderson remained and the task before him was a daunting one. Anderson started strong with a two-wheel stunt that led to a variety of tricks that included a combination of a backflip into a moonwalk. That sealed the deal as the fans decided on a winning score of 9.182.

Anderson’s score is actually the lowest score to win a stadium Freestyle competition since the JudgesZone voting took affect a year ago. Anderson also owns the highest winning score (9.900), getting that standard at Syracuse in 2017.

Action Packed Weekend for Monster JamadminMon, 04/16/2018 - 4:09 pm

CHATTANOOGA

Coty Saucier (Mutant™) and Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger®) claimed Event Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but it was far from easy. Saucier had to win Freestyle in the afternoon show, which gave him the tiebreaker over Matt Pagliarulo (Jester). Strong evening performances in Donuts and Two-Wheel Skills sealed the deal for Anderson.

HAMILTON

Steve Thompson (Hurricane Force) captured both Freestyle events in Hamilton, Ontario, which contributed to his first Event Championship of the season. Darren Migues (Nitro Menace) also scored his first Event Championship in the opening show, celebrating his birthday in one of the best possible ways.

KNOXVILLE

Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) swept Monster Jam competitions in the opening show of the weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee. Linsey Read (Scooby-Doo™) bounced back in the Sunday afternoon show to claim Donuts and Freestyle to move to the Event Championship.

LINCOLN

Mat Dishman (Rammunition) won two Event Championships with Brandon Vinson (Grave Digger) claiming the remaining title in Lincoln, Nebraska. The two dominated throughout the weekend, winning all but one competition, which saw Raminator claim Donuts in the opening show.

Monster Jam action will continue this weekend with shows in Austin, Texas; Columbus, Ohio, Evansville, Indiana and Huntsville, Alabama.

Collete Davis (Wonder Woman™) captured a Freestyle win and Daron Basl (Overkill Evolution) claimed a Donut competition.

COLUMBUS
Coty Saucier (Mutant™) claimed two Event Championships while Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) prevented the sweep at Monster Jam’s events in Columbus, Ohio.  Saucier won two Freestyle competitions and was best in two Donut challenges. Anderson was a double winner in Two Wheel Skills. Steven Thompson (Hurricane Force) won two Racing Championships.

EVANSVILLE
Pablo Huffaker (Grave Digger) was virtually unstoppable as Monster Jam rolled into Evansville, Indiana. Huffaker swept all three Event Championships and went undefeated in Racing and Two-Wheel Skills. Zane Rettew (Stinger Unleashed) won two Freestyle championships with Darren Migues (Nitro Menace) victorious in one Donut competition.

HUNTSVILLE
Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger), Linsey Read (Scooby-Doo™) and Trent Montgomery (Razin’ Kane) shared the spotlight with Event Championships at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Menninga ran his 2018 racing record to 90-10 to pick up two titles on the weekend. Read was a two-time winner in Donut competition with J.R. McNeal (Xtermigator) also scoring a win in Donuts.

Monster Jam action continues this week in Colorado Springs (CO), Manchester (NH), Moline (IL), Santa Clara (CA) and Tallahassee (FL)
